A large and impressive finely figured walnut and brass bound writing slope. Brass bound with brass vacant engraving plate surrounded with inlaid brass lines, matching escutcheon plate and working lock and key. Inside, are slotted stationery compartments, lidded compartment, inkwell holders with matching screw topped inkwells, pen tray and nib compartment. The top board opens to a stationery compartment and access to a concealed spring loaded panel behind which are three secret drawers. When the box is unlocked, there is access to a pin that locks the long full length drawer to the side, with flush campaign style handles. Size: 18" x 11.3/4" x 8" high.
